MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A Chicago man will serve prison time for supplying drug dealers in Central Wisconsin with heroin and fentanyl.
Neko Donovan Forbes will serve 18 years in prison and 12 years on extended supervision after pleading guilty to numerous counts including first-degree reckless homicide for supplying potent fentanyl-laced heroin that was used in connection with an overdose death. Other charges included possession with the intent to deliver more than 50 grams of the drug and separate charges of delivery of heroin.
As part of the conspiracy, Forbes would deliver the drugs from Chicago to Central Wisconsin where they would be distributed by Ashley and Lisa Stone of Nekoosa. Both of those women are also serving prison time in connection with the plot.
Wood County Judge Todd Wolf handed down the sentence earlier this month after the state argued that the 31-year-old Forbes was intentionally lacing his heroin with large amounts of fentanyl. That method is used by dealers to increase profits due to fentanyl’s impact, which allows them to sell less heroin and still provide the same high for the user, thereby allowing them to increase their profits.
