WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Wausau has been named on of the ten most difficult markets in the US for home buyers.
According to a report done by Realtor.com, Wausau has four houses available for sale per 1,000 homes.
Realtor Nichole Guenthner tells WAOW-TV that with the current weather it is not shocking that homeowners aren’t selling right now. “We have been in a shortage, this is the third year 2022 but it will get better,” Guenther said. “It always does the whole real estate market is always cycling.”
She went on to say the article shouldn’t scare anyone. As the warmer weather comes around the corner Guenther said there will be more houses on the market.
Wausau was listed at #10 on the list of most difficult markets for home buyers. Other cities in the top 10 included Rochester, NY, Columbia, MO, and Elkhart, IN. Iowa City, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Provo, UT were among the ten best markets for home buyers- all with more than 20 homes for sale per 1,000.
