CRANDON, WI (WSAU) — A sexually violent person will be placed in a home in Crandon on Thursday.
Officials say Jeffrey Levasseur will be released to a home on Sand Lake Road after completing his sentence for two counts of raping a child in Forest County in 1999.
It’s the fifth time that officials have tried to place Levasseur in the last few months. Other attempts to place him in areas like Blackwell and Lanark were met with legal battles. Hiles and Plover were also offered as options but didn’t materialize.
Levasseur was also convicted of criminal sexual conduct in Minnesota in 1992.
