WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Recovering addicts, their families, and community members joined together Tuesday for a celebration of sobriety in Wausau for the Faces of Recovery luncheon.
WAOW-TV reports that Alicia Chila was one of three who shared her recovery story at the luncheon.
“Meth addiction is a very hard addiction to overcome and I know that personally and now being on the other side, the side I never thought I would be on, I want to be a voice of hope,” she said.
Chila spent time in prison and urges others to reach out to community treatment programs for help.
This is the sixth year the Marathon County Alcohol and Other Drug Partnership has hosted the Faces of Recovery luncheon.
