WESTON, WI (WSAU) — The D.C. Everest School District will take its next step forward in the process of replacing Superintendent Kristine Gilmore tonight.
Both candidates for the job, Casey Nye and Jeff Lindell will participate in a candidates forum this evening. The session begins at 6:00 at the DCE Middle School and will feature each candidate answering 12 identical questions that address the interests of six stakeholder groups in the district.
The first candidate will go from 6-7 PM. There will then be a short break, and the next candidate will have the floor from 7:15 to 8:15.
Following Thursday’s forum, the Board of Education will conduct closed-session interviews with both candidates on Monday. The Board is tentatively scheduled to announce the winning candidate on March 16th.
Both candidates come from within the district. Nye is the Assistant Superintendent for Learning and Lindell is the Director of Student Services. They were named finalists in early February, since then the district has been compiling feedback through a series of surveys to shape the questions that will be asked of them this evening.
For those who can’t attend in person, the event will be live-streamed and archived for on-demand viewing.
Gilmore is retiring from the district on June 3oth after 19 years as Superintendent. Should the winning candidate accept the position, they would start on July 1st.
