MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — No one was injured after an early-morning fire in a Merrill garage on Thursday.
Crews were called to the building in the 500 block of North Prospect Street just after midnight to find the unattached structure engulfed in flames. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames with hoselines after they confirmed no one was inside at the time of the fire.
Crews also had to navigate around a downed power line. Despite that challenge, no one was injured in the incident.
Damage to the structure is estimated to be around $5,000. The cause remains under investigation.
