TOWN OF HARRISON, WI (WSAU) — A deadly crash shut down traffic on State Highway 17 in Lincoln County early Sunday morning.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s office says it was a one-vehicle rollover that occurred just before 3 AM near the intersection of County Highway D. One person, identified as Wayne Allen Millron, age 28, of Rhinelander was declared dead at the scene.
Officials say two others were injured in the incident, including an 18-year-old Rhinelander man who was taken by ambulance to St Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander, and later to the trauma center at Aspirus Wausau where he is listed in critical condition. An 18-year-old Tomahawk man was treated at the scene.
Highway 17 was closed for several hours while the accident was cleared.
Deputies are awaiting test results but say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
