MIAMI, FL (WSAU) — The Brewers couldn’t recover from a rough 4th inning in a 9-3 loss to the Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park on Saturday.
Starter Eric Lauer gave up three home runs in the frame, accounting for four-run and turning a 1-0 Brewers lead into a 4-1 deficit that the Crew wouldn’t recover from.
Miami added another four runs in the 6th and tacked on one more in the 8th.
Milwaukee was led by Hunter Renfroe who went 2-4 with two RBI, including a two-run tater in the 8th that scored Luis Urias. Willy Adames added a solo home run in the first as well.
Tyrone Taylor and Christian Yelich each went 1-4 with a single.
Lauer took the loss on the mound. Trevor Gott allowed four runs (two earned) on two hits without recording an out in the 6th, giving him an ERA of infinity for the game.
The Brewers drop to 3-5 on their current road trip, which concludes today with a matinee against the Fish at LoanDepot Park. First pitch is scheduled for just after noon, with pregame coverage at 11:35 on WSAU.
