WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – An employee at the Marathon County courthouse has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Marathon County Health Department says the worker had not been at work since June 26th.
The worker is an employee of Marathon County. The county was notified of the positive test on Friday.
County Administrator Lance Leonhard said in a written statement: “Like other employers in our area, Marathon County Government has put policies and practices in place to mitigate the risk of spread of COVID-19 and protect our employees and the public. I applaud our employee for promptly contacting their supervisor, reporting that they were experiencing symptoms consistent with the virus, and staying home.”
The health department hasn’t disclosed any close contact between the employee and other people visiting the courthouse. The employee’s name and their job title have not been released.
