IOLA, WI (WSAU) — Another big Central Wisconsin event has fallen victim to the COVID-19 pandemic. The annual Iola Car Show and Swap Meet have been cancelled for this summer.
In a released statement, car show executive director Joe Opperman that they could not “ensure the safety, confidence and comfort of all involved, including staff, volunteers and vendors.”
He also said they are discussing what they are calling a “Rally For Iola” which would include a drive through the show grounds and street cruise on July 11th. The statement calls it “a way to allow everyone the opportunity to safely enjoy key elements of the historic show.”
They also say while the show is cancelled they are only postponing the the swap meet and flea market which they hope to hold at a later date.
