The Wausau Policing Task Force will take another crack at finalizing their recommendations to city leaders and then disbanding themselves Monday night
The group took public comments on their recommendations in mid-May, which was the result of more than two years of meetings and discussions with officers. Many of the recommendations had centered on officers’ mental health and well-being along with community interaction.

Once the group turns over the recommendations to the city, they will disband and any implementation will come from groups such as the public health and safety committee and the police and fire commission.
The group was scheduled to finalize their recommendations two weeks ago, but that meeting was unexpectedly canceled the day of.
