MILWAUKEE, Wi (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers took a 2-1 lead into the 9th inning on Tuesday night and had Josh Hader on the mound. They had to feel pretty good about their chances.
But, for the first time since July 7th 2021, Hader blew a save as he gave up solo home runs to Alec Bohm and Matt Vierling in a 3-2 Phillies win. It was the first time he had given up a run since July 28 2021.
The Brewers loaded the bases with two outs in the 9th but couldn’t score. Andrew McCutchen and Rowdy Tellez had the Brewers RBIs. Christian Yelich was 2-4 with two runs scored.
Hunter Renfroe returned from the IL and started in the game. Pitcher Trevor Gott was placed on the IL with a right groin strain.
Milwaukee has dropped four straight and will host the Phillies again tonight . Pre game-show at 6:35 on WSAU
