WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Wausau.
Wausau PD reports that Frank Legner, 52, of Stevens Point was struck Wednesday night while crossing North 1st Street at Washington Street. The car that hit him was making a left-turn onto North 1st.
Police say Legner died at the scene. An initial police report says neither speed nor alcohol was a factor in the crash, and no citations have been issued to the driver.
The driver’s name hasn’t been made public. The crash shut down the area for four hours.
