MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Wheeler News Service) — A 108-95 Saturday night victory earns the Milwaukee Bucks another line in the record book as a streak-breaker.
The Bucks victory stopped Golden State’s streak of 24 straight victories to start a season. Milwaukee also snapped the Los Angeles Lakers 33-game winning streak in the 1971-72 season.
Center Greg Monroe scored 28 points to lead Milwaukee, doing most of his damage in the fourth quarter. Jabari Parker scored 19 points and O-J Mayo 18 in front of a sellout home crowd. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a triple-double, with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
The Warriors were coming off a double-overtime game in Boston the night before and they couldn’t match the home team’s energy.
Milwaukee started the final period on an 11-2 run and was never seriously challenged the rest of the way. Sharpshooter Stephen Curry couldn’t blamed for the loss. He scored 28 points.
