(Madison, WI) — The Wisconsin women’s hockey team will start the 2015-16 season ranked third in the USCHO.com Division-one women’s poll. The Badgers received 124 votes, four fewer than second place Boston College.
Defending N-C-A-A champion Minnesota begins the season ranked number-one with 150 points and all 15 first-place votes.
The national ranking comes on the heels of the Badgers being picked to finish second in the W-C-H-A by the league coaches last week. Wisconsin returns 19 letter winners from last year’s W-C-H-A Playoff champion squad.
Wisconsin opens the 2015-16 season on October second against Providence in San Jose, California.
