MILWAUKEE, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) The Milwaukee Bucks traded veteran center Zaza Pachulia to Dallas yesterday for a future second-round draft pick. The trade came on the same day the Bucks signed free-agent center Greg Monroe to a maximum contract of three years and 50-million dollars.
The Bucks also re-upped with shooting guard Khris Middleton on a five-year, 70-million dollar deal. The 31-year-old Pachulia spent two years in his second stint with Milwaukee, after playing with the Bucks in the second of his 12 total N-B-A seasons. He averaged around eight points, seven rebounds, and two-and-a-half assists in those last two years.
Pachulia was the third Milwaukee veteran to be traded this summer, along with Jared Dudley and Ersan Ilyasova. Media reports said the Bucks saved around 17-and-a-half million dollars in salaries in those three moves, and they’re close to their salary cap of 70-million dollars.
One of the Bucks’ 15 roster spots remains open.
