MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — A wild 9th inning ended with the Milwaukee Brewers coming up just short in an 8-6 loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday at American Family Field.
Andrew McCutchen recorded a two-run homer in that final frame, his only hit of the game.
Mike Brosseau added two hits and an RBI. Luis Urias was 1-3 with two RBI.
Trevor Gott took the loss on the mound after allowing two earned runs off two hits in the 6th. Eric Lauer when 5 innings in the start but left with a no-decision.
Milwaukee falls to 48-39 on the season but remains in first place in the NL Central.
The Brewers went just 2-4 in a six-game homestand against the Cubs and Pirates this week. They’re off on Monday and will play two games in 24 hours against the Minnesota Twins Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon in the Twin Cities.
