SAN FRANCISCO, CA (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers limp into the All-Star break with another loss. The Giants beat Milwaukee 9-5 on Sunday afternoon at Oracle Park.
San Francisco jumped on Brewers starter Aaron Ashby and reliever Jason Alexander for seven runs in the first three innings. They added two in the 6th and that was enough.
Willy Adames homered in the first inning for Milwaukee. The Brewers got two in the 7th on a Hunter Renfroe double and two more in the 8th with a Rowdy Tellez homer but it wasn’t enough.
Milwaukee heads into the break at 50-43, a half-game up on the Cardinals for the Central Division lead. They return to action Friday beginning a four-game series with Colorado at American Family Field.
