MADISON, Wi (WSAU) The Wisconsin mens basketball team opened the regular season with a 79-47 win over Central Arkansas on Friday night at the Kohl Center.
Bronson Koenig led a balanced attack with 16 points. Nigel Hayes had 14, 10 of which came in the second half. Ethan Happ added eight points and nine rebounds. Freshman D’Mitrick Trice hit two 3’s off the bench in the first half.
The Badger defense held the Bears to 28% shooting. Derrick Brooks had 12 points and eight rebounds.
The #10 ranked Badgers will return to action on Tuesday against Creighton.
