(Washington, DC) — The Senate is sending a veterans’ exposure bill to President Biden’s desk.
The PACT Act passed Tuesday evening 86-to-11, with potential to expand benefits from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to almost four million veterans.
The bill looks to add extra care for vets who suffered illnesses due to exposure to toxins, including from burn pits, during their military service.
The bill had passed once before but was stalled after Republicans tried to make changes to it infuriating veterans groups around the country.
President Biden is expected to sign the bill.
