The Pointers’ three non-conference opponents combined to go 26-6 (.813) last season.”You want to play really good people in the non-conference because it gets you ready for the strong WIAC, which we call the SEC of Division III,” head coach Tom Journell said of the team’s schedule. “When you have Albion and St. Norbert, who both went to the Division III playoffs and then Adrian, who usually goes to the Division III playoffs, it really tests you and allows you to work on things to get you ready for the WIAC. We want to schedule high-caliber teams and this year is no exception.”The Pointers begin Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play at UW-Eau Claire on Oct. 1 and will play four of their seven conference games away from home. UW-Stevens Point’s home conference opener falls on Oct. 8 when UW-Platteville visits Community Stadium at Goerke Park, which will also be the team’s Pink Game. The following week, UWSP hosts 2015 NCAA quarterfinalist UW-Oshkosh on Homecoming before heading to NCAA semifinalist UW-Whitewater on Oct. 22.
