ROSEMONT, IL (WSAU) The format for Big Ten basketball scheduling will be changing in the 2018-19 seasons. The mens basketball schedule will increase to 20 conference games and womens basketball will include 18 conference games.
The Big Ten Administrators Council approved the changes at its annual meeting last week.
Under the new format, mens teams will play seven opponents twice in a given season and six opponents once with the in-state rivalries played twice every season.
The womens teams will play five opponents twice and eight teams once with in-state rivalries played twice every season as well.
