STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The UWSP football team dropped their Saturday matchup 59-7 at Whitewater.
The Pointers were not match for the Warhawks who scored on five straight possesions at one point.
Freshman quarterback Max Herro threw a touchdown pass to Christian Almonte for the Pointers only score.
UWSP will close out the season this Saturday at River Falls.
The UWSP mens hockey team tolled over Bethel 9-2 on Saturday. The 4th ranked Pointer scored the most goals since January 2016.
Brennan Miller scored twice. Solo goals were scored by Carter Roo, Drew McLean, Brandon McReynolds (SH) Logan Fredericks, Tanner Karty, Luke McElhenie, & Ethan Strong.
Connor Ryckman had 13 saves. The Pointers return to action Friday as they host St. Marys.
The UWSP womens hockey team gave up four goals in the second period and lost to visiting St. Thomas 6-2 on Saturday.
Antigo native Lauren Smith scored the first Pointer goal on the power play in the first period. Nicole Neuberger got her first career goal in the 3rd period.
Sydney Conley had 23 saves. Freshman Olivia Schultz made her first career appearance in the 3rd period and had 11 saves.
The Pointers will play this Saturday hosting UW-River Falls.
