(Reuters) – President Joe Biden plans to meet with family members of two Americans jailed in Russia – basketball star Brittney Griner and former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan, the Associated Press reported on Thursday, citing unnamed U.S. administration officials.
Biden is expected to hold separate meetings at the White House on Friday with the two families in what would be their first in-person encounter with the president, the AP said.
