MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-5 on Monday night but were eliminated from the playoff race when the Philadelphia Phillies won in Houston.
The Brewers scored three runs in the ninth to tie the game and two in the 10th to win after Arizona had regained the lead in the extra frame.
Hunter Renfroe homered in the 9th and drove in the game winner in the 10th. Christian Yelich also homered in the game.
Brandon Woodruff went six innings giving up two runs on two hits with seven Ks in his final start of the season.
Marshfield native Daulton Varsho went 1-5 with an RBI for Arizona.
The Brewers were knocked out of playoff contention a few minutes later when the Phillies finished up a 3-0 win over the Astros.
The Brewers have two games remaining vs Arizona including tonight…pre game show at 6:05 on WSAU.
