PHILADELPHIA, PA (MetroSource-WSAU) — Brandon Woodruff allowed just one hit in six shutout innings as the Brewers beat the Phillies 6-1 in Philadelphia.
Yasmani Grandal hit a three-run homer and Ryan Braun added a two-run shot for Milwaukee. The Brewers snapped a three-game losing streak.
The Brewers also called up top prospect Keston Hiura from the minors before last night’s game against the Phillies and went 2-for-3 with a walk. Third baseman Travis Shaw is on the injured list with a wrist ailment.
The Brewers and Phillies face off again tonight at Citizens Bank Park. It’s the second of their three-game series, with Gio Gonzalez slated to start opposite Philly’s Jake Arrieta.
