MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The University of Wisconsin is investigating after a number of private photos and videos of the UW volleyball team were circulated on the internet.
One source told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that it appears the photos and video were shot after the team won the Big Ten title last November.
Members of the team reported the release of the photos to University police and authorities are investigating possible crimes including sharing sensitive photos without consent.
The university says they are investigating the incident, saying in part “the unauthorized sharing is a significant and wrongful invasion of the student-athletes privacy, including potential violations of university policies and criminal statutes”.
Wisconsin is 13-3 this season and plays Friday night at the UW-Fieldhouse vs Michigan State.
