MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A Stevens Point man who was arrested in mid-April on suspicion of distributing child pornography has been sentenced.
Alexander Kucharski will serve the minimum of five years in federal lockup for running a KIK chat group dedicated to distributing the images.
Investigators say the group had up to 50 members and that Kucharski was often the one distributing the images. When the group would get reported and shut down, he would open a new one and the cycle would start again.
He was arrested in a SWAT team incident at a Stevens Point apartment on April 12th and was indicted on the charges eight days later. He pled guilty during today’s hearing.
Kucharski will also serve 12 years of extended supervision.
