It was 50 years ago this August when hundreds of thousands of hippies, flower children and music fans descended on Bethel New York and the farm of Max Yasgur for three days of love, peace music and art. It became known as Woodstock and became the stuff of legend. Carlos Santana was among the performers shortly after his bands first Lp was released and his performance helped make him a star.
He will be back this summer for the 50th anniversary concert in Watkins Glen New York. The lineup of acts was announced yesterday. It includes 60's icons Robert Plant, John Fogerty, John Sebastian, Melanie, The Dead, David Crosby, Country Joe McDonald, Canned Heat, & Hot Tuna. Oh, and if you need something a bit newer…The Killers, The Lumineers, Chance The Rapper, The Black Keys, Sturgill Simpson, Jay Z, Imagine Dragons, Halsey, Janelle Monae, Brandi Carlile, Judah & The Lion, The Raconteurs are just a few of the acts scheduled. I would imagine the ticket situation will be more tightly controlled than 50 years ago when 10's of thousands of people showed up without tickets and promoters finally just threw the gates open. It's all happening August 16-18. You going?
Clay Matthews to the Rams for two years, Randall Cobb to the Cowboys for one. In my humble opinion Matthews is pretty much done as a difference maker and Cobb just can't stay on the field. I think one of the young recievers can take that spot joining Adams and Allison in ther starting lineup.
There is a story going around about the Brewers talking with free agent pitcher Craig Kimbrel. 3 months ago you would have thought that was nonsense but with the concerns about Jeremy Jeffress health and the fact that so many free agents including Kimbrel are still available the main question now is will Kimbrel take alot less than he thought just to pitch this season or will he sit it out? Former All-Star outfielder Carlos Gonzalez just signed a minor-league deal for crying out loud.
