Daniel Craig won't play James Bond forever. Although he will in the next flick “Spectre” that will be out in November. Therefore there has been alot of speculation on who the next Bond would be and many think it should be an actor of color to play 007. Enter the firestorm of controversy this week when the author who is writing the current Bond books (with the blessing of the Ian Fleming estate) said he though Idris Elba was “too street” to play the super-spy. For many that was tatamount to saying Elba was “too black”. Anthony Horowitz promptly apologized for any offense taken and also pointed out that in the interview he did suggest another black actor he thought would do the role better. I don't think his comment was about race but I do think he certainly sold Elba's acting talents short. Good actors can play anything and Elba is one of the better actors working today. Since exploding on-screen as Stringer Bell, the gangster who wanted to be a business man, in the The Wire, he has taken all kinds of different roles. If you haven't seen his turn as tortured detective John Luther in the BBC drama 'Luther”, put that on your Netflix list right now. Many fans think Elba should be the choice if the producers decide to change Bond's ethnicity. For some Bond will always be white (like Santa Claus or Jesus 🙂 ha! ), but Idris Elba is an actor of the highest caliber and if anyone thinks he couldn't make you believe he's James Bond, you have another think coming.
Randall Cobb was not on the practice field yesterday but said that he would not miss any games due to his injured shoulder. The Packers did release Matt Blanchard as expected. Brett Hundley has certainly showed enough promise to keep him as the developmental QB on the roster
You'll get a chance to see Zach Davies pitch for the Brewers tonight. he is the prospect that they received from Baltimore in the Gerardo Parra trade.
