The Stevens Point pitching staff twirled its second one-hitter this week against the struggling East offense as the Panthers beat the Jacks 8-0 in a baseball matchup at Bukolt Park on Thursday.
Sharrod Harper's infield single in the fifth was the only hit and he was quickly erased in a double play. The only other players to reach base for East were two hit batsman in the 6th inning.
Spash scored 3 in the first, 3 in the third and 2 in the fourth to blow the game open. Gus Turner-Zick and two doubles and two rbis. Nick Schroeder knocked in three runs for the Panthers who ran their record to 3-0.
Cameron Lee pitched 5 innings to pick up the win. Nick Woehlert took the loss.
The Lumberjacks fall to 0-2 and will host Northland Pines on Saturday
