WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Several Wausau River District businesses will hold special events to mark Small Business Saturday tomorrow.
River District Executive Director Blake Opal-Wahoske says that includes the city’s first-ever Ale Trail, featuring Wisconsin craft beer samples at several downtown businesses. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to get to see some small businesses, do holiday shopping, and taste some Wisconsin craft beers as well.”
Tickets for the Ale Trail are $10 in advance or $15 the day of and can be purchased at the River District office across from the 400 Block on Scott Street. Opal-Wahoske adds there will be businesses on both sides of the river participating in the event, so they’ve arranged for a shuttle for those that don’t want to walk across the bridge.
The River District has also invited Santa Clause to the City Square Office lobby for photos from 9 AM to 5 PM with a one-hour break between 11:30 and 12:30. That event is free for all.
Several businesses will also have specials on gift ideas and holiday decor as well.
Opal-Wahoske encourages everyone to consider supporting downtown businesses through the Christmas shopping season as a way to support the local community. “That’s more money that stays here in our local economy and you are supporting someone’s livelihood, making their dreams a reality. Also, small businesses depend on this especially as they look into the first quarter of 2023.”
