EVERYTHING EVERGREENS (FOX SPORTS WAUSAU-WSAU) – We have some
really good games on the DC Everest sports schedule for holiday break.
Everest hockey, coming off their best win of the year over a
1-loss Chippewa Falls team last week, takes on 8-0-0 Antigo Wednesday afternoon
at 3pm. The Red Robins are supposed to win, but Everest will have every opportunity
to spring the upset. The Evergreens have won two-of-their-last-three against
Antigo, and good play in goal from Michael Janke should keep the game close. We’ll
have live coverage at 3pm on AM-1390 FM-93.9 from Greenheck.
The Everest girls basketball team draws a 7-1 Eau Claire
Memorial team in the Big Rivers-Wisconsin Valley challenge. When last seen the
Evergreens were 15-points better than a 5-2 Baraboo team. Today’s game (on
FoxSportsRadio at 5pm immediately following hockey) is an intriguing matchup.
Everest has won five-in-a-row and will benefit from a week off since their last
game.
Tomorrow (Thurday) the Everest girls play Superior (5-4 with a
Wednesday morning game against Wausau West). We’ll have this game tomorrow on
FoxSportsRadio at 5pm.
I feel for the DC Everest boys basketball team. They lost on a
well-defended buzzer beater to Wausau East, and haven’t played for nearly two
weeks. It’s a tough loss to shake off. They’re up in Superior to play Chippewa
Falls at noon today and Eau Claire Memorial at 5p tomorrow (no radio). Both are winnable
games against evenly matched opponents.
