Wisconsin Badagers
MADISON, WI (WSAU) — In front of a sold-out UW Fieldhouse, the Pittsburgh Panthers defeated Wisconsin to win the Madison regional and claim a spot in next weekend’s NCAA Final Four in Omaha.
Devyn Robinson led Wisconsin with 21 kills and three blocks. Sarah Franklin added 15 kills and two blocks. Gulce Guctekin, MJ Hammill, and Julia Orzol each finished with double figures in digs with 24, 18, and 12, respectively.
Set scores were 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 19-25, and 15-13.
In addition to her 18 digs, Hammill added 23 set assists. Guctekin also recorded a double-double with 14 assists.
Wisconsin finishes the season at 28-4 overall and 19-1 in Big Ten play.
Pitt advances to the final four where they will meet fellow ACC powerhouse Louisville on Thursday. The other national semifinal features Texas and the University of San Diego.
