When Compromising is Wrong

You hear it all the time on the left, the right needs to compromise. But, there are many situations in which compromising can be the evil thing to do. I can quickly sum it up this way, if you're compromising your values, you're doing something wrong.
Compromising can be okay if it doesn't involve your values. If you and another person feel like two different types of food, and you're looking to go out to eat, you might disagree on which place to go. Making a compromise on which restaurant you go to, is not a bad thing. But that's because it doesn't involve your values.
Satan tries to make us compromise our values all the time in sinful ways. If you struggle with alcohol, you are tempted to stop by a bar. You may have resisted going into bars for years, but then a friend comes along and invites you to go with them into a bar. They may ask you to make a compromise and not drink, but just go in. Or someone may ask you to take a sip of alcohol, but just don't drink the whole thing. If you compromise in those areas, you most likely have already lost the war. Satan doesn't come at you all at once, he is patient, and asks you to make one compromise at a time.
This can be true in politics as well. The Democrats don't necessarily come at us all at once. They just try to get us to compromise our values away one small piece at a time. Abortion, they want you to compromise on rape and incest. Obamacare, they want you to compromise by having the government involved in just a little bit of Health Care. All the while knowing that once you make that compromise, government will eventually take over the whole system. Why is there homosexual marriage in America today? It's because Republicans gave in, or compromised, that you are born a homosexual. Remember When the argument used to be whether homosexuality is something you choose or something you're born with. You don't hear that debate anymore. That in turn normalized homosexuality to the point that homosexual marriage is then acceptable.
So live by this rule, don't compromise your values. Stick to your values and defend them. If you give the enemy an inch, they'll take a mile.
