Students at the University of Wisconsin defend religious rights for Muslims, but are baffled when they realize they must also defend Christianity. It is very easy for students on the University of Wisconsin's campus to defend religious rights, so long as those rights don't belong to Christians.
If you watch this video below, you will see that these students have never really been challenged on whether their beliefs are consistent for all. They have never been challenged to think critically of their own beliefs.
Universities today train you to think a certain way. The professor's give you the answers, you memorize those answers, and then mark them down on a test. If you are good at being told what to think and what to memorize, you can get an A. If you think outside the box, or do not answer the way the professor would like you to answer, you will NOT get an A. You do not challenge what is being taught, you must take it as fact.
Universities do not want independent thinkers, they want students who will listen and obey.
To be a conservative on a University campus, is to be someone who is constantly critically thinking. Every view you have is constantly challenged.
To be a liberal on a University campus, is to be someone who only hears their own point of view. They are never challenged in what they believe, nor do they want to be challenged. Hence, the massive student protest when a conservative tries to speak on a campus.
But, the main point of the video is this, liberalism will defend the rights of every religion, so long as that religion is not Christianity. There's a reason for this. Christianity is the only religion that scares the left. They do not fear Allah, or Buddha, or any Hindu god. They fear the God of Christianity. If this wasn't the case, they would just brush Christianity off and laugh.
Please watch the video if you already haven't. It's fun to see young students think new thoughts for the very first time.
