MILWAUKEE, Wi (MetroSpurce-WSAU) — The Brewers are making a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Milwaukee acquired Bryse Wilson from Pittsburgh on Tuesday for cash considerations. The pitcher started 2- games for the Pirates last season and had a 5.52 ERA over 115-plus innings pitched.
The righty made an impact for the Braves back in 2020 when he allowed one run over six innings in Game 4 of the NL Championship Series. The Braves would eventually lose to the Dodgers despite Wilson giving the team a 3-1 series lead. LA went on to win the World Series over the Rays in six games.
Wilson will likely pitch out of the bullpen for the Brewers.
Meanwhile a familiar face is coming back to the Brewers. ESPN reports Wade Miley has agreed to a one-year, 4.5-million-dollar deal return to Milwaukee.
The pitcher started 16 games for the Brew Crew back in 2018 where he had a 2.57 ERA over 80-plus innings pitched. The lefty spent last season with the Cubs and had a 3.16 ERA over just 37 innings pitched due to injury.
The veteran starter will fit into a rotation that includes Brandon Woodruff, Corbin Burnes and Freddy Peralta.
