Alvada
J. Brostowitz, 92, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017,
in Woodruff.
She
was born on June 18, 1925, in Wisconsin Rapids, to the late LeRoy and Inga
(Stensberg) Lutz, and she was married to Herbert Brostowitz on Nov. 15, 1947.
He passed away on Jan. 9, 1964.
Alvada
was a registered nurse at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids before
retiring. She enjoyed her seasonal home on Blue Lake in Minocqua, water skiing
in her younger years, fishing, bowling, reading, playing cards and golfing. She
especially enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Survivors
include her daughters, Diane (Charles) Longwitz and Carol (William) Smith;
grandchildren, Aimee (Charles) Ouimette, Keri (Mike) Zimmerman, Melissa (John)
McKeel, Christina (Mike) Walczak, Paula (Chris) Bausch, Andrea Smith, Brent
(Katrina) Smith, Brian (Elise) Smith, Tammy Levit Jones and Sandy Levit; and 26
great-grandchildren.
In
addition to her parents and husband, Alvada was preceded in death by her
grandson, Brad Longwitz.
The
funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at the
Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. Douglas Schalow
officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the
funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
