WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Nearly all of Marathon County’s snowmobile trails will be open at 8 AM on Saturday.
According to an update by the county’s Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department, all trails in Zones 1, 4, and 6 will be completely open at that time. Trails in Zone 2 will also be open, but riders are asked to exercise caution at creek crossings.
Zones 3 and 5 will have partial openings. For details on which areas will be open, check the County’s trail report website.
All trails are said to be in early-season form. Riders are encouraged to exercise caution and to stay off of any closed trail. Riding on a closed trail or private property during the snowmobile season can result in a citation for trespassing.
