WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – DATCP is warning consumers to be on the lookout for phony sales before Super Bowl Sunday. According to Michael Domke of DATCP, “We wanna make sure you’re paying real close attention to what a solicitation is about, often times we encourage everyone to not respond to that solicitation especially if you didn’t sign up for it.”
Domke added that making sure you’re on a trustworthy website and taking an extra second to review your purchase can help consumers save a lot of money when buying tickets and goods online.
Using a credit card as a form of payment, he continued, may be the safest way to purchase tickets or goods online because of their fraud protection practices, which may aid in recovering any stolen funds.
