MADISON, WI (WSAU) – Trailing by a point, Wisconsin had a chance to set up a game-winning shot against Rutgers in the final moments of Saturday’s game. Connor Essegian missed a driving attempt towards the basket. The ball came out to Max Lesmit for a final shot, which was blocked at the buzzer by Clifford Omoruyi. It preserved a 58-57 win for the Scarlet Knights.
Jordan Davis led Wisconsin with 14 points. Klesmit had 11. Kamari McGee had 9 off the bench. Steven Crowl scored 8 and had 11 rebounds.
Chucky Hepburn, the team’s leading scorer, was in foul trouble early and finished with 6-points.
Wisconsin shot just 22-percent from the floor in the 2nd half.
The Badgers fall to 15-11 overall and 7-9 in Big Ten games.
Wisconsin hosts Iowa at 8pm CT Wednesday.
