Chad J. Bambrough
TOWN OF CRESCENT, WI (WSAU) — A home in the Oneida County Town of Crescent is considered a total loss after a fire on Thursday.
Crews were called to the structure on US Highway 8 at about 3:30 Thursday afternoon for a report of a building that was engulfed with flames coming out ten feet above the roof. Crews from at least eight different fire agencies reported including Crescent, Rhinelander, Pine Lake, and Newbold.
Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set, leading to the arrest of 34-year-old Chad J. Bambrough. He’s expected to face charges of arson, damage to a building through the use of explosives, and recklessly endangering safety. Court records show he’s being held on a $25,000 bond.
It’s believed that illegal drugs may have played a role in the incident. Sheriff’s officials confirm that the structure is considered a total loss.
In addition to fire crews and first responders, the State Fire Marshal and Division of Criminal Investigation also responded. WPS was also on the scene.
Bambrough is expected to return to court on March 9th.
