STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) – The NCAA Tournament bracket was revealed on Monday morning, the No. 7 UW-Stevens Point men’s hockey team (19-5-4) knew who they would face in the opening round. At 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, UWSP will play host to Augsburg (16-9-2) at K.B. Willett Arena.
The Pointers last faced off against the Auggies back on January 7th and won 4-0 at the K.B Willett Arena.
In the WIAC Commissioner’s Cup final on Saturday, UWSP defeated No. 14 UW-Eau Claire 5-1 to earn the WIAC’s automatic ticket to the NCAA Tournament. The Pointers won their fourth championship and appeared in the championship game for the ninth time in a row.
Tickets for Saturday’s game will become available on March 8th at 8:00 a.m. Calling 715-346-4100 or going in person to the University Information and Ticket Office in the Dreyfus University Center are the two ways that fans can buy tickets. Tickets must be picked up in person at the DUC from the first 300 UWSP students who provide a valid ID to receive a free ticket.
The winner will advance to the second round and play Adrian on March 18th.
