WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – One of Wausau’s most historic structures has been renovated, modernizing its affordable units while preserving its historical features.
Following the ceremony, Gorman & Company, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Housing & Economic Development Authority and the City of Wausau, hosted an open house for residents at the Landmark to view the renovations and enjoy food and refreshments.
“The Landmark has been completely renovated to provide affordable apartment homes to downtown Wausau residents for generations to come,” said Ted Matkom, Wisconsin Market President of Gorman & Company. “Without the combined collaboration of the City of Wausau, the Community Development Authority, and our financing partners, none of this would have been possible.”
The building was originally known as the Hotel Wausau when it was constructed in 1924. Marie and Ray Goldbach bought and renamed the property The Landmark in 1963, remodeling it to include 92 apartments and 18 office spaces. Gorman & Company purchased the property from realtor Jack Williams in 2020.
