WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – An Athens man is facing criminal charges after allegedly exposing himself to an employee in a Wausau coffee shop drive through, court records show.
Daniel J. Punke, 40, was arrested on March 15th after a Starbucks employee reported a man in the drive-thru had exposed himself as she handed him her drink. According to court documents, the woman working “was able to confidently report that his pants were not in any way accidentally down.”
Police were able to identify Punke after looking over surveillance footage from the shop and comparing NASCAR and several political stickers on his Jeep Cherokee to pictures that had been recorded.
Punke admitted to police that he intentionally exposed himself and that he was dealing with personal issues at the time of the incident on March 10th.
Prosecutors charged Punke with lewd and lascivious behavior on March 17, in addition to a felony bail jumping charge in connection with an ongoing Shawano County case. According to court records, Punke was out on bond in Shawano County at the time he allegedly exposed himself in Wausau.
A pretrial conference has been scheduled for April 19.
