WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – Authorities in the Wausau metro region are warning residents of car break-ins.
According to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, multiple car break-ins to unlocked vehicles occurred in Wausau, Rothschild, and Rib Mountain over the weekend.
“The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone that the first step of protecting your personal property is to lock your vehicle when it is unattended, especially at night and when you are away from home. Additionally, its also wise not to leave valuables (i.e. purses, wallets, cellular telephones, etc.) in plain site within your vehicle,” the sheriffs office said in a Facebook post.
If you have any information about these recent break-ins, please contact your local law enforcement department or use the Marathon County Crime Stoppers website or tip line to assist in the identification of those involved.
