WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — One person died in a rollover accident along Highway 29 in Wausau on Thursday.
Very few details have been released regarding the incident. Officers said the incident occured in the eastbound lane, and a press release from the Wausau PD confirmed that the crash involved a “loss of life.”
It’s unclear if there were any survivors from the wreck, or if speed and alcohol were factors.
Police were called to the scene at about 7:30 PM and immediately shut down all four lanes of traffic. The closure lasted until just after 11:30 PM.
Drivers were rerouted onto Stewart Avenue through Wausau while crews continue to investigate the scene.
