WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – USA Today named a Wisconsin cultural institution the nation’s top chain of gas stations.
That’s right, Kwik Trip. The closest Kwik Trip contains everything you need, including cheese curds, milk, coffee, donuts, and, of course, petrol. Kwik Trip is more than simply a convenience store.
USA Today attributed Kwik Trip’s ranking to the chain’s daily production of more than two dozen distinct bakery goods and its sourcing of milk from farms within a 100-mile radius of La Crosse.
Other criteria besides gas were used to evaluate the list. The other variables taken into account included cleanliness, food quality, and service quality.
The Des Moines-based grocery store chain Hy-Vee took the runner-up spot, proving that Midwest hospitality must have been highly valued by the USA Today judges.
Kwik Trip has more than 800 sites in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, South Dakota, and Illinois.
