MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — First baseman Luke Voit was designated for assignment by the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday.
Voit, who made the team as a free agent out of spring training, had struggled at the plate all season. The 32 year old hit .221 with no homers in 74 at-bats. He went on the IL May 15th with aq neck strain.
The Brewers had earlier signed Darin Ruf to replace Voit on the roster.
After a day off, Milwaukee opens a series in Toronto tonight….pre game show at 6:05 on WSAU.
