NEW YORK (Reuters) – Top U.S. infectious disease official Anthony Fauci said on Wednesday that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is not cutting corners on safety in its review of vaccine candidates for COVID-19.
Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said at an event hosted by Harvard University that he expects we will know whether we have a safe and effective vaccine by the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
